The town’s project team will ask the fall town meeting to approve $1,243,500 in Community Preservation funds to advance park renovations in South Natick after a state MVP grant application was not selected. Angela Snell, director of community services, said the town received a separate $82,500 CPA grant for final design work and has matching funds and staff time to support the proposals.
Snell said Grove Park and the multipurpose area were prioritized for construction because their design was nearer to completion, while Old Town Park has high archaeological sensitivity and will require an investigative assessment with the Public Archaeology Lab (Powell). "The town received a community preservation grant for $82,500 to perform a final design and permitting," Snell said, and the team is coordinating timing with the nearby spillway‑removal work before resuming additional design phases.
