An ASB representative opened the meeting with a student report on recent and upcoming student-run activities and raised concerns about campus facilities and food access. The representative said students noticed restrooms are often closed after school and sometimes during class, and asked the district to increase the number of restrooms available to students who stay late for non-athletic extracurriculars.
The student also described a breakfast incident that highlighted dietary-exclusion concerns. "She was just told to throw it away if she didn't want it," the ASB representative said, referring to a Muslim student who avoids pork. The student added, "I believe that our school should be more or should be as inclusive as it can be," and asked the board to review breakfast service procedures and options so all students can access a culturally appropriate meal. The board did not take formal action at the time but the concern was entered into open communications for follow-up.
