Board approves small grants and probation staffing actions

Probation staff presented three administrative items that the board approved on Aug. 18: acceptance of a $1,000 Coffee Connections grant, authorization to backfill an adult probation agent position, and appointment of the probation director to the Freeborn County Family Service and Children’s Mental Health Collaborative.

The Coffee Connections grant was entered by Commissioner Schauff and seconded by Commissioner Severson, and the board approved it on a roll call. On staffing, the board authorized filling the vacant adult probation agent position; staff noted the action would allow continued service levels. The probation director asked to be appointed to the county collaborative; Commissioner Casa entered that resolution and Commissioner Ekstrom seconded it, and the board approved the appointment.
