The Clark County Commission approved a conditional use permit for a competitive computer-gaming venue inside the Tenea Lofts industrial complex after an appeal and neighborhood concerns about compatibility.
Applicant Denizio Ordillo described an interior-only operation limited to two suites (110 and 135) with ticketed events, shuttle services and no walk-in access. Addressing neighbors' concerns, the chair reduced the applicant’s proposed operational envelope: the board limited occupancy to 100 people per event, cut permitted events from six to four per month, set hours of operation from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., required soundproofing and mandated shuttle transportation with invoice verification to the chair's office. The board also prohibited loitering and on-site alcohol consumption by right. A one-year public-review hearing was added so the board and neighbors can assess whether the conditions are being met.
Resident Whitney Horkey urged the board to deny the permit on compatibility grounds, saying conditions should not be used to retrofit an incompatible use into a neighborhood. The board said the conditions were designed to give county enforcement clear tools and scheduled an earlier review if problems arise.
