UDOT open house Sept. 23 to show Main Street interchange options; council restates opposition to road through River Heights

River Heights councilors told residents a UDOT open-house meeting is scheduled for Sept. 23 at River Heights Elementary to show maps and preliminary options for a proposed interchange intended to relieve traffic on Main Street. Council said the meeting will include engineers to answer questions and is an opportunity for River Heights residents to review alternatives and comment.

A council member reminded the audience the council has a prior unanimous position opposing any road that would extend 2nd East through River Heights; the council asked residents to attend the Sept. 23 event and noted the project is still in a preliminary design stage. “There is a meeting coming up on September 23… It’ll be at the River Heights Elementary, and it’ll be an open house,” a council member told the meeting.
