The administrator presented a draft warrant for a municipal tax-levy ordinance that originated from a voter petition and asked the board to authorize the printing and ordering of ballots so they would be available for October. Staff explained the town would not post the warrant immediately to allow for any required adjustments before posting becomes final.
"We do need to order the ballots to be here for October," the administrator said, and the board approved a motion to allow the ballots to be made. The administrator also noted a public hearing on the proposed tax-levy ordinance will be held Sept. 15 at 7 p.m.
The board voted 3-0 to authorize the ballot order and to proceed with the process needed to place the question before voters. Staff said the final warrant posting will follow the town’s schedule and any statutory posting requirements.
