The county administrator reported a courthouse-security grant of approximately $157,000 to complete ballistic window installation on the entire first floor, covering the last 22 windows, and said staff will coordinate with the courts on procurement and installation.
Finance and operations staff also briefed commissioners on pursuing a telematics/training grant that would equip about 73 county vehicles with tracking and data systems intended to identify driving-risk patterns and reduce incidents. Danny, who led the update, said the first-year cost under a training grant would be about $17,000 and that subscription costs would be expected in later years; he said implementation would include a policy build-out to handle performance management and remediation if the system identifies driver safety issues. The board agreed to proceed with preparing an application and to bring the formal grant application to the board before submission.
Other administrative items noted: HR trainings on NeoGov performance evaluations, planning for a future discussion on a tech-park sale, and interest in a data-center peer exchange in December. No vote accompanied the grant announcements at the meeting.
