The court adopted a CJIS-related workstation security policy proposed by IT staff requiring configured workstations to automatically lock (password-protected screensaver) after 30 minutes of inactivity. IT staff (speaker 9) said the policy is part of the county's security posture; the court amended the motion to exempt dispatch consoles after the sheriff/dispatch representative (speaker 12) explained a 30-minute auto-lock could interfere with 911 operations and that dispatch systems are otherwise secured and restricted from public access.
IT also requested approval of a three-year service agreement with CTI for recommissioning, maintenance and support of the Emergency Operations Center audiovisual system through DIR cooperative contract CP0-0579 at a total cost of $27,468.49 to be funded from the IT budget; commissioners approved the agreement. Finally, staff recommended a seven-month extension of the county
ata backup and recovery agreement to align contract renewal cycles; staff presented a revised annualized total of $202,824.67 (previously quoted as $199,567.62) to move the contract onto a calendar cycle and the court approved the extension.
"Part of our security posture, we like to implement this...so basically 30 minutes, without activity, it's just gonna go to the screen server and then you log back in," IT staff said during the CJIS discussion. The court accepted the dispatch exemption and approved the security requirement and both IT procurement items in open session.
