Buddy Pilgrim, who identified himself as a Parker resident, used his three minutes of public comment to criticize the county's handling of his June 9 Texas Public Information Act request regarding the Huffines RTG plat. Pilgrim said the county waited until July 1 to reply and that the attorney-drafted letter asked him to narrow the request in ways he could not comply with. "It's a ridiculous waste of money to have an attorney write me and tell me improperly in violation of the law you need to tell us the dates and times of all the communications such communications," Pilgrim said.
Pilgrim said he may submit additional requests related to the PID that was removed from the agenda and warned that similar tactics in another Parker case led to litigation and about $16,000 in attorney fees. The court did not respond directly to his allegations during public comment; Pilgrim concluded by asking the county to avoid similar delays or restrictive replies to future TPIA requests.
Pilgrim's comments were the only public comment recorded at this meeting.
