Board authorizes First Selectman to contact Social Services Director candidates

The Board of Selectmen conducted executive-session interviews for Social Services Director candidates and, upon returning to open session, authorized the First Selectman to contact both candidates to make an offer of employment to one of them. Selectman Joe Campbell made the motion and Selectman Chet Bialicki seconded; the motion passed unanimously.

The interviews were held in executive session; timing adjustments and invited participants were recorded in the minutes. The authorization empowers the First Selectman to conclude the hiring process outside of further public discussion, with standard personnel procedures to follow.
