Erin Milroy, president of Adel Chamber & Economic Development, emailed county staff asking for time on the Sept. 1 agenda to request county support for the United We Tailgate / RVTV event scheduled for Sept. 11 in downtown Adel. The email asks the county to allow use of the courthouse grassy lawn, permit a performer on the south courthouse steps, coordinate EMS coverage, and provide designated cooling or severe‑weather locations (902 Court Street, 800 Court Street).
Milroy’s message also requested county civic participation in a Hometown Heroes program (4–4:30 p.m.) and suggested ringing the courthouse bell 25 times to commemorate the Sept. 11 anniversary. The event organizers expect temporary road closures (Main Street between Hwy 169 and 10th St.; 9th Street between Prairie & Court; 10th Street between alleys) from noon to 9 p.m. and have published a schedule of events and vendor/tailgate registration instructions.
In her email Milroy wrote, “I would like to request time on the September 1st agenda for support requests for the upcoming RVTV event.” The board packet included the email and a public notice for the event; the supervisors will consider any permitting or road‑closure requests through the county’s standard coordination channels.
