Youth team fundraiser at Rockin' Wheels aims to send 12U Blazers to Tennessee tournament

Jeff Mastel, the evening's emcee, spent part of Rockin' Wheels interviewing a fundraising table staffed by youth players who said they were raising money to send the 12U Blazers to a tournament in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

"So this supports 12 u Blazers to go to Tennessee, and we're selling chips, candy, ice cream, and, diet coke and stuff," a team representative said. Players identified schools they attend — Blackhawk Middle School and Indian Trail — and a parent was present to describe the trip as a chance to play stronger teams in the South and East.

The table asked passersby to buy snacks and support the team; emcee Mastel encouraged attendance and community backing as part of the season-closing festivities. No dollar targets or fundraising totals were specified in the remarks.
