Dr. Sheila Jackson told parents the district has organized free immunization clinics so students can meet required vaccine schedules ahead of the start of school and avoid exclusion.
She listed locations and dates for free clinics: one at Kenmoor (transcript: "Kenmore, Bridal School"), another at High Point High School on Sept. 12, and a clinic at Eleanor Roosevelt High School on Sept. 26, and emphasized that children who are not following the required immunization schedule could be excluded from school beginning Sept. 14 unless they receive needed vaccines. "If your child is not immunized, effectively following the schedule that they need to follow on September 14, they will receive a letter saying that they cannot come back to school until their immunizations are covered," Dr. Jackson said.
Why this matters: Immunization compliance affects students' ability to attend in‑person classes; parents were urged to use free clinics and contact the Department of Student Services with questions.
Next steps: Staff directed families to the district website for clinic links and to contact student services for assistance; clinics and county government offerings were described as complementary.
