Judge opened the session and invited a state representative to present the county's rural secondary road program. Megan Anderson, identified by the court as a State Highway representative, reviewed the fiscal year 2026–27 allotment and the flex-fund balance.
“Our projected allotment was $1,550,739… and total flex funds available $263,324,” Anderson said, laying out the funding available for county projects. She described a county project on Kentucky 1083 (Galloway Mills Road): a 4.68‑mile resurfacing from Browning Road north to mile point 8.63, with base repairs, tree trimming, dense-grade shoulders and permanent pavement markings at an estimated $759,828.
The court later returned to the program paperwork and approved Resolution 26‑11, authorizing the judge executive to execute necessary documents to accept county roads and to secure flex‑fund reimbursement not to exceed $263,324 for a bituminous resurfacing at Blue Level Road. Motion to adopt the resolution was made by Squire Aldridge and seconded by Squire McWhorter; roll‑call votes approved the resolution.
The presentation also noted routine maintenance estimates — roughly 152.151 miles at $3,670 per mile — that feed into longer-term planning and maintenance scheduling. County members thanked the state team and voiced support for the resurfacing priority.
Next steps: state and county staff will finalize paperwork for the resolution and proceed with the procurement and scheduling for resurfacing work under the rural secondary program agreement.
