SOAC votes to add fire chiefs and to make Casey ex officio on advisory committee

Vice Chair moved that the committee "include the Chiefs as ex official non voting members of the committee, and that we empower them to come back with additional recommendations as to who would be helpful for technical and operational experience." The motion was seconded, an amendment to add Casey as an ex officio member was proposed and accepted, and the amended motion passed by voice vote.

The committee followed with a separate motion to add fire board members who reside in the South as ex officio participants (to ensure South-area representation); that motion was seconded and approved. Members said adding technical experts and chiefs will improve the committee's recommendations and credibility before the fire board and county council.
