The Crowley ISD Board of Trustees voted to hold the Crowley High School and North Crowley High School 2027 commencement ceremonies at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on Sunday, May 23, 2027, with a 4 p.m. ceremony for Crowley High and an 8 p.m. ceremony for North Crowley.
District staff said the arena’s 8,900-seat capacity fits the district’s needs and that consolidating two ceremonies in one day yields cost savings; staff told trustees the venue offered significant savings when two ceremonies are held the same day. Trustee Daryl Davis moved to approve the contract and the motion passed by show of hands.
Administrators told the board that the graduation rental cost fits within the district’s existing graduation budget line. Officials said Dickies Arena will manage ticket distribution and gate checks, and they cautioned that parking is not included in the contract and will be a separate expense to families. Superintendent McFarland and campus staff said they would work with each high school on transportation arrangements for graduates and families.
Trustees emphasized that the arena’s size is similar to the district stadium and that families should expect ticketing limits: “This arena, though great, is not significantly larger than what we have here,” Trustee Daryl R. Davis II said, urging clear communication to families about realistic attendance expectations. District staff also agreed to provide additional details on tickets, transportation and any family costs as plans firm up.
