Collier County staff told Marco Island officials they are pursuing a $250,000 legislative appropriation to fund a feasibility study for converting Isles of Capri from aging septic systems to sanitary sewer.
Trinity Scott said the study will develop a phased plan, evaluate right‑of‑way needs and include public engagement with Isles of Capri residents and Marco staff. The county described the project as smaller than West Goodlette and predicted a shorter study duration (about two years); officials said the study is also intended to support grant applications that could reduce resident connection fees.
Commissioners said community will and targeted grant strategies will shape timing; Scott and others said the county will pursue grant opportunities to buy down tap‑in costs and that the study will establish what grants and phases make financial sense.
