Committee votes to remove four applicants from recommendation list

During deliberations, committee members identified four applicant groups they wanted additional information about or to remove from the recommendation list because representatives did not appear at the meeting. The committee then moved to remove groups 1, 2, 6 and 7 from the recommendation list and to forward the remainder to council.

The motion to remove — "I'll go ahead and motion to approve, removing groups 1, 2, 6, and 7" — was made and seconded on the record. The committee voted by voice with all members saying "aye" and no opposition; the chair declared the motion carried. The committee will forward its recommended slate (with those four applicants removed) to the city council for final action on Oct. 1.
