The board approved several routine administrative items during the meeting. The Department of Code Enforcement requested a full refund of a $490 building permit for Top Line Heating and Air at 15 Sugarbush Road after the owner canceled work two days after the permit was issued; the board approved the refund despite the usual $75 administrative fee that is normally nonrefundable.
Separately, the board approved a resolution authorizing a Justice Court Assistance Program grant application for up to $14,182 to replace justice court furniture and filing cabinets. During public recognition the Patterson Library trustee Debbie Weisel described upcoming programs and services at the library, including a school-supplies drive running through Sept. 1, "Off the Plank" (pirate history program) on Sept. 17 at 6:30 PM and a Medicare 101 session on Sept. 30. A Zoom participant, Richard Steven Beach, asked about the status of the town's noise ordinance; the Chair said enforcement procedures are on hold pending guidance from the prosecutor about decibel-meter prosecution methods.
