Committee forwards multiple department budgets and reports to October hearings

Committee members moved a set of department budgets and routine financial reports to the October Budget Hearings. Ostermann presented the Treasurer’s budget and said the primary increases are personnel costs; Marheine presented the Finance budget showing a roughly $3,500 decrease. The committee approved the Treasurer, LRES, County Clerk/County Board and Finance budgets (motion Fried/Hess for Finance; voice votes noted as 'All Aye').

The committee also received routine reports including investment, sales-tax-by-month, checking-account and opioid-funds reports and an IT planning update from Rhodes. No public comment was received and the committee set future meeting dates, including Sept. 9, 2026 and CIP meetings Sept. 2 (and tentatively the 3rd). Chairman Fried adjourned the meeting at 12:25 p.m.
