A facilities representative briefed the committee on outstanding warranty items at Baldwin Elementary and described ongoing work to address HVAC programming and courtyard drainage. The representative said the design intentionally made windows operable but that access is controlled by the lead custodian via keyed handles; facilities staff said they would follow up with an email and additional communications before school opens.
The presenter said the team is meeting on-site to install a drainage well in the courtyard to address water accumulation and that many remaining items are parts orders or contractor fixes. Facilities asked the construction manager to provide an extended HVAC warranty and reported the manager has agreed to stand behind the work in writing; the committee requested the written warranty and asked for continued coordination with principals to reconcile teacher warranty lists and outstanding punch-list items.
Committee members raised classroom conditions and teacher needs such as lockable storage and indoor air handling; facilities staff said they are conducting a district-wide assessment of desks and storage and will return with cost estimates and options. The committee emphasized the need to resolve warranty and operational items before the start of the school year.
