The BAC unanimously approved plans for a new spa building at the Homestead after an architect presentation and committee review.
Architect Brandon Hall presented site plans and renderings showing a predominantly one‑story spa building tucked beside Snake Creek, with employee parking limited to about 10 stalls, outdoor hot and cold tubs, barrel saunas, indoor treatment rooms and a recessed pump house to minimize noise. "It's strictly for, you know, it's not public access. It's not for parties or events," Hall said, describing how guests will check in at the activity center and be routed to the spa by cart or on foot.
Committee members praised the design as consistent with previous Homestead architecture and discussed materials including timber, metal roofing and stone; Hall said final stone selection will be confirmed once samples are available. He also said roof equipment would be concealed and site lighting would follow dark‑sky compliance.
Brandon Hall moved to "approve plans as is," and the motion was accepted as unanimous by the committee. Committee member S3 said he will report the drawings to the city council at its next meeting on Sept. 1. Hall estimated construction could start in November and take about a year and a half to complete.
