Subcommittee tentatively sets Aug. 21, 2027 for VillaFest and discusses upgrades including a mobile stage

On Aug. 27 the VillaFest subcommittee moved to tentatively set Aug. 21, 2027 as next year’s VillaFest date. Michelle McDonald (speaker 2) moved the motion and the chair called a voice vote; the motion passed after an "Aye" vote count called by the chair.

Speakers discussed use of a mobile stage to avoid generator noise at the gazebo and to improve lighting and staging; a committee member noted a flatbed trailer stage would cost about $1,500 to rent, while larger carnival rides would be prohibitively expensive (one vendor quote that committee members referenced put carnival ride packages starting at about $90,000). Steve Dela Rosa (speaker 4) described the Westmont example, where a community nonprofit (501(c)(3)) raised recurring funds and ultimately supported larger acts without repeated village subsidies; the committee flagged that model as worth exploring for long-term growth.
