Budget update: Skanska reports $4.418 billion project budget; contingencies and pending changes noted

Kevin Kane of Skanska summarized budget status for the committee and said, "The the the total project budget is is the same, the $4,418,000,000." He described monthly change order number 49 and said the team has processed allowances and extensions that are included in a $44,000,000 extension figure and that the construction contingency currently sits at roughly $9,000,000.

Kane said there are pending changes totaling about $7,900,000 against that remaining contingency and that the project has approximately $1,100,000 in rejected contractor claims that Skanska, Perkins Eastman and Suffolk are negotiating. He added that the owner's contingency has largely stayed the same while the construction manager's contingency is drawing down as the project progresses.
