Council approves licenses, appointments and routine items on consent calendar

On its consent calendar the council approved a slate of routine business: temporary and renewed sidewalk café licenses (including a temporary permit for Community Cookery during the Newport International Boat Show and a renewal for Bridal Tavern LTD), entertainment licenses for several restaurants and venues (Gardner House, Midtown Race Club, Joe’s American Bistro), and municipal appointments to boards and commissions, including juvenile hearing board and cemetery advisory seats.

Mayor Charlie Holder recused himself for one license vote. All consent items were approved by voice vote without substantive debate.
