Council member requests list of positions covered by DMEA contract ahead of Council vote

Committee member Candace Fay asked for more information about who the DMEA agreement covers and asked that staff provide a list of positions and the number of employees covered before the next full Council meeting.

Taylor O’Brien and Assistant Corporation Counsel Tracy Norris stressed the confidentiality of ongoing negotiations, with O’Brien noting that membership lists are not traditionally provided while bargaining remains confidential. Norris said the executed agreements are "filed with the Legislative Assistant and anyone can ask to see them at that point." Members asked staff to return with position counts and any outstanding benefit details for the full Council packet.

The ad hoc did not withhold a recommendation; instead the committee voted to forward the funding recommendation to the full Council and requested more detailed information in advance of that meeting.
