Deputy Library Director Crosby used the Aug. 26 meeting to announce staffing and operations updates. Crosby introduced Dahlia Kolak as the department's new senior office specialist, saying she started in the week prior and has a degree in English from UC Irvine and background in translation and adult literacy tutoring.
Crosby also updated trustees on the library's RFID (radio frequency identification) technology project: equipment has arrived at the Cole location and staff expect the Dove units in mid‑September; a final project report will be delivered when the rollout is complete. Crosby said the RFID work affected program scheduling earlier in the summer.
Crosby reported that the TGIF Concerts in the Park series concluded on Aug. 21 with attendance similar to last year. She also summarized partner activity: a Friends group silent auction netted about $1,100 and a buy‑one‑get‑one sale is scheduled Aug. 29–Sept. 5 at the Dove Library. Crosby closed with a brief update on ongoing programming from the North San Diego County Genealogical Society.
