The Community Redevelopment Agency opened its Aug. 26 meeting with a unanimous vote to approve the consent agenda. Vice Mayor Cruzado moved to approve; the chair announced the motion passed unanimously.
CRA staff member Kyle presented the agency's pro forma and the proposed FY2027 budget, saying, "But effectively what you're doing here today is approving your budget for 2627 to allow that to be integrated into your city commission budget moving forward for the upcoming year." He emphasized that the agency can adjust the budget during the year to respond to new projects and priorities. The presentation highlighted that approximately 71% of planned spending in the district is earmarked for capital projects rather than operations.
Staff noted advisory-board involvement in crafting the budget and said the CRA advisory board unanimously approved the plan. The presentation covered program continuity for housing rehabilitation, facade grants and youth employment programs, and a range of capital projects across the three CRA areas. Staff asked the board for any direction on schedule or priorities but said adjustments could be made at future public meetings.
The meeting proceeded to member questions about specific projects and timelines; there was no recorded separate formal vote on the FY2027 pro forma beyond the earlier consent-agenda approval.
