Prairie County adds Election Day to official holiday calendar

Prairie County commissioners approved an amendment to the county holiday calendar to add Election Day, following a brief discussion acknowledging the omission from the prior resolution. A commissioner moved to accept the revised resolution; a second was recorded and the board approved the change by voice vote.

The change grew out of a staff review that found Election Day missing from the holidays list. Commissioners said the amendment would be recorded as a formal resolution and placed in the county's resolution folder. The board handled the item under the routine-resolutions portion of the agenda and completed the vote without public objection.
