Tama County hires two road-crew foremen; start dates set for early January

A staff member told the meeting that formal offers were made and accepted for two road-crew foreman openings, naming Jerry Pervvis and Taylor House as the selected candidates and giving anticipated start dates in early January.

“We did make formal offers to two people. Um they both accepted,” the staff member said. The hires follow a seven-candidate interview process and are intended to return the road crew structure to two foremen, with transition work planned with a staffer named Ben.

Board members discussed district coverage for the new foremen, with one speaker saying the newly hired foreman would be assigned to the east side. The staff member noted some candidates’ military leadership or road-department experience during the selection discussion.

A motion to approve the hires was made at the meeting and carried by voice vote; the transcript records the chair asking for those in favor to say “I,” followed by the announcement, “Motion carries.” The record does not include a roll-call tally.
