Council told engineers will be asked to design ADA curb cuts; amendment to Peters Consultants contract to be presented Jan. 25

Borough Manager Jess Novinger told Council she and Public Works Director Sam Shaffer are working with SEDA-COG to assemble information needed to amend the existing Peters Consultants, Inc. contract so the firm can design additional ADA curb cuts on South Turbot Avenue between Susquehanna Avenue and Race Street. Novinger said Peters Consultants was the low bidder on July 15, 2022, and continues to come in significantly below other engineering bids.

Novinger said Linda Sterling from SEDA-COG will present an official contract amendment at the Jan. 25 meeting. The curb-cut work is timed to coincide with final paving by Big Rock following UGI's main replacement work; borough paving will use Liquid Fuels funds and tie into the contractor's final surface work. No contract dollar amounts were specified in the Jan. 11 discussion.
