The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors met Jan. 2, 2026, and approved its agenda and minutes, appointed leadership, adopted a series of resolutions and approved routine administrative items.
"I move to appoint Casey Kellan as chair," said a board member during the meeting, and the motion passed. After the appointment the newly seated chair said, "All right. We need a motion for the vice chair." The board subsequently adopted motions to name a vice chair and to designate officials for purchasing supplies and equipment.
The board then adopted a series of resolutions by voice vote, including designating the official newspaper (Resolution 2026‑2), authorizing issuance of warrants when the board is not in session (Res. 2026‑3), permitting certain county officers to destroy specified items (Res. 2026‑4), and designating official depositories for county funds (Res. 2026‑5). A separate resolution (Res. 2026‑13) adopted documents related to the county's compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and appointed a Title VI coordinator.
The board approved the warrant register for the period ending Dec. 27, 2025, and recorded other routine approvals including designated official holidays and appointment lists (Item E, 1–22). A motion and second to adjourn concluded the session.
