Hamlet Committee unanimously backs cedar bandshell from Scenic Shelters

The Hamlet Committee voted unanimously Feb. 7 to recommend that the Town Board select a cedar‑sided bandshell model from Scenic Shelters over an alternative from EnWood. The committee cited the Scenic Shelters model’s cedar side and back walls as preferable to the pressure‑treated pine used by the EnWood model and said cedar is more environmentally friendly and tends to stain better.

Committee members present — Supervisor Mike Dvorchak, Hamlet Committee Chair Shannon Bell, Dan Levy, Tim Stookesberry and Town Board member Bart Ziegler — recorded a unanimous recommendation. Committee member Phyllis Granat also expressed support in an earlier email, which the committee noted. The committee’s recommendation will be forwarded to the Town Board for its consideration; no Town Board action was taken at the Feb. 7 meeting.
