The Town Board of Newfane approved a packaged slate of reappointments and administrative items during its Jan. 2 reorganizational meeting, adopting agenda items 2–42 in a single consent motion moved by Councilman Paul Conrad and seconded by Councilwoman Jessica Reinhardt.
The bundled package — as listed in the meeting attachment — reappointed town counsel and prosecutorial roles, named department liaisons and committee chairs, set official meeting dates for 2026, established polling locations and authorized administrative policies such as the procurement and investment policies. The agenda attachment lists specific appointments including James J. Sansone as attorney for vehicle and traffic prosecutions, Mary Zeller as confidential assistant to the supervisor, Wendel Companies as town engineers and Drescher & Malecki for accounting services.
Supervisor John Syracuse reminded newly appointed employees of the administrative requirement that "Oath of Office by Appointed employees: must see CLERK'S OFFICE and sign before the first paycheck is received." The consent motion passed with no questions and a unanimous vote.
Board members said the streamlined consent approach was intended to handle routine administrative appointments efficiently while preserving the opportunity to discuss any individual item if a member requested it at future meetings. The board listed the reorganizational agenda in full as part of the meeting materials.
