Legislature names majority and minority leaders, appoints clerk and secretary

Republican members of the Chautauqua County Legislature designated Legislator Jamie Gustafson as Majority Leader and Legislator Lisa Vanstrom as Assistant Majority Leader for 2026, under the county's local law governing legislative organization. Democratic members designated Legislator Robert Bankoski as Minority Leader and Legislator Thomas Nelson as Assistant Minority Leader. These leadership designations were recorded in the organizational paperwork presented to the body.

The Legislature also adopted ministerial resolutions to appoint the Clerk and Secretary to the Legislature. Legislator Larson spoke in support of the clerk reappointment, thanking Olivia Lee for her service. The votes on these ministerial resolutions were recorded as unanimous among present members (17 yes; 2 absent).
