Orchard council allows temporary batting-cage use in city gym pending liability waiver and rules

The Orchard City Council voted unanimously to permit Willie Haisler to continue using the city gym for a softball batting cage on a temporary basis while the council and staff finalize a lease agreement, revised gym rules and a liability waiver. Commissioner Matt Perreault made the motion and Commissioner Joe Supak seconded; the motion passed without objection.

The minutes state that "more information is needed regarding how many kids, hours of use, cost of use by person using facility, lease agreement and liability waiver." The council recorded these items as outstanding requirements before granting longer-term approval or a formal lease.
