Kirkland sets meeting schedule, official newspapers, banking depository and payroll rules for 2026

As part of its organizational agenda the Town Board named the Waterville Times as the official town newspaper with the Rome Sentinel as alternate, designated the National Bank and Trust Company as the depository for town funds, and authorized the Town Supervisor to sign contracts with the bank, the minutes show.

The board fixed the two regular monthly meetings at 5:00 p.m. at the municipal building with exceptions in January, May, September and October, set mileage reimbursement at 40 cents per mile, and established payroll timing (bi-weekly with listed monthly and annual exceptions for certain officials). These administrative directives were adopted under the same resolution approving appointments and salaries.
