Delmont retains secretary, solicitor and engineering firms; auditor, tax collector kept

Council confirmed a slate of administrative and professional appointments at the Jan. 5 reorganization meeting. Dave Weber moved to keep Dawn Earhart as borough Secretary-Treasurer and the motion carried. Chris Bigley moved to retain Timothy Witt of Watson Mundorff as solicitor; that motion also carried.

On engineering, the council voted to retain LSSE (Lennon, Smith, Souleret Engineering) for sewage engineering and Morris Knowles for general and roads engineering. The minutes record that Julie Walczer opposed the LSSE retention and opposed the Morris Knowles motion, but both measures carried. Council also maintained Berkheimer as the appointed tax collector per Westmoreland County practice and kept Vance & Company, PC as the borough auditor.
