Board authorizes highway superintendent to post roads, bid materials and attend training

The Town Board on Jan. 2 approved routine highway authorizations, giving the Highway Superintendent authority to post roads, bid for materials county- and state-wide, and to attend Highway School, Advocacy Day and the Fall Conference. "Mrs. Ortman motioned to authorize the Highway Superintendent to post roads, bid for materials- County and State, attend Highway School, Advocacy Day and Fall Conference," Council member Louise Ortman said; the motion passed 4-0.

The board separately authorized the Town Supervisor and board to sign the agreement to spend highway funds, to renew the shared contract with Chautauqua County, and to sign a contract for assessor services, again on a unanimous vote. The approvals were recorded as motions to provide the superintendent and town officers the authority needed to manage highway operations and related contracts.
