The Winnsboro Independent School District Board of Trustees voted 6-0 on Feb. 7 to hire an interim superintendent and approve an Interim Superintendent of Schools Agreement following closed-session interviews.
President Brandon Green called the special meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. and "stated there was a quorum present and the meeting was duly called and notice of the meeting has been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551." The board convened into closed session at 10:04 a.m. under Texas Government Code §551.074 to interview candidate(s) for superintendent and discuss employment; it returned to open session at 12:20 p.m.
The motion recorded in the minutes—"Deliberate and possible action to hire an Interim Superintendent of Schools and to approve an Interim Superintendent of Schools Agreement"—was moved by Kristie Amason and seconded by Billy Saucier and carried 6-0. The minutes do not identify the person selected as interim superintendent or the terms of the agreement in the published entry.
About six trustees were present: Brandon Green (president), Kristie Amason, Jay Murdock, Chip Brown, Billy Saucier and Brian Busby. Approximately 25 guests attended the meeting at the Winnsboro Memorial Intermediate School Cafeteria in Winnsboro. The meeting adjourned at 12:43 p.m.
