SEAGO representative William Osborne told the council the hearing’s primary purpose was to collect candidate ideas the town will publish and later convert into a resolution for the regional-account application. He emphasized that regional-account awards typically fund one primary implementation project in a jurisdiction’s rotation and that SSP funding can be used earlier to pay for engineering and design so a project is shovel-ready.
Mayor Johann Wallace summarized the ideas collected—Activity Center modernization (kitchen/ADA), water-system assessment and possible meter replacements, park renovations and goat-head removal, pool shade and turf, sidewalks and traffic calming, and possible low-income housing—and instructed staff to publish the compiled list for public review; no project selection occurred at this meeting. The council moved to adjourn and the motion passed unanimously.
