La Vega ISD board votes unanimously to decline adoption of SB 11 'period of prayer' policy

On Feb. 28, 2026, the La Vega ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve a resolution declining to adopt the policy described in SB 11 of the 89th Legislative Session. Board President Myron Ridge established a quorum and called the special meeting to order at 11:00 a.m.; Trustee Henry C. Jennings made the motion to decline adoption and Rev. Larry Carpenter seconded the motion. The minutes record each trustee as voting "For": Rev. Larry Carpenter, Randy Devorsky, Henry C. Jennings, Raymond Koon and Myron Ridge.
