Mount Vernon SD 80 approves staff transfers and accepts two resignations

At its Jan. 24 retreat the Mount Vernon City Schools board approved multiple personnel transfers and accepted two resignations. By motion of Matt Reynolds seconded by Brian Blok, the board approved transfers for the 2026–2027 school year: Tylar Hubbard from Special Education teacher to 1st grade teacher at Dr. Nick Osborne Primary Center; Kaylea Sledge from 1st grade to 3rd grade at Dr. Nick Osborne Primary Center; and Jessica Wallis from 1st grade teacher to Special Education teacher at Dr. Nick Osborne Primary Center.

In the same vote the board accepted resignations: Leslie Smith will step down as assistant principal at Zadok Casey Middle School effective June 30, 2026; Allison Simmons resigned as a regular education paraprofessional at J.L. Buford Intermediate Center effective Jan. 16, 2026. The roll-call votes for these personnel actions were recorded as ayes from Reynolds, Blok, Flanigan, Burge, Nunnery and Jackson; Daniels was absent.
