Council discusses part-time office help, flag purchases and generator funding

Clerk/Treasurer Kristine Allas proposed advertising for a part-time office assistant for about 20 hours per month to assist with office tasks, website updates and cleaning; the council discussed the idea but took no formal hiring action. Maintenance Bob Jax reported that summer help has begun mowing and that the City Hall sign/posts knocked down by wind will receive estimates for replacement.

Council Member Tom Lewison moved to purchase 20 flags and hardware, with eight flags paid from the Gambling Tax fund and 12 paid from city funds; Council Member Andrew Felten seconded and Mayor Greenlee approved. The council also discussed investigating a generator and 3-phase service as a possible Gambling Tax Fund expense. Separately, Council Member Felten raised the idea of negotiating with JD Driver (Dean/D Bendtsen referenced) to rent space for displaying 150th-history boards.
