District evaluates building options and a $12,000 leak-detection vendor quote

Directors discussed funding opportunities and early design sketches for a new equipment building to house district equipment and a workshop. A 33×33-foot example with a 20-foot door and about 10-foot interior height was discussed; rough construction cost was estimated at about $50 per square foot, not including plumbing or wiring for utilities. Alternatives such as lean-to carports for snow equipment storage were raised as lower-cost options.

On grant and leak-detection matters, Director O’Neill reported a vendor estimate of about $12,000 for system-wide leak detection plus a $400 charge each way for travel from Southern California. Staff suggested isolating the system to find specific leakage areas and noted that pressure testing requires three people (Dolmovic, Harness, Doty), which could reduce outside-vendor costs if conducted in-house.
