The Village of Ocean Beach on March 28 awarded the re‑bid contract for the Elevated Water Storage Tank Rehabilitation to Bridgeway Associates, Corp for $1,235,000, authorizing the mayor and treasurer to execute the agreement and make interfund transfers to cover the contract costs.
Mayor James S. Mallott read the resolution accepting H2M Architects + Engineers’ recommendation and said the payments will be funded via interfund transfers from the village’s unassigned fund balance. The board voted unanimously to approve the contract (Resolution No. 2026-018).
Superintendent Kevin Schelling reported operational updates for the village water system. “The water tower is offline. We are being supplied by Seaview and supplemented by our wells,” Schelling said, adding that interior painting crews were finishing the work and water should be back on in about seven days. He also described an isolated repair of a 20‑foot pipe crack that has been fixed.
The award and the ongoing painting underscore a near‑term focus on restoring full water service before peak summer demand and on advancing a major capital rehabilitation funded through the village’s capital account.
