Councilman: village cut fire budget again; Oakfield considers joint district with Alabama

Councilman D'Alba told the board that "The Village has cut the Fire budget once again" and presented a proposal to explore a joint district with the neighboring Alabama fire department. Board members discussed that the village currently has no reserves for purchasing a new fire truck and that some Alabama members might prefer a split interest arrangement.

The discussion covered options including forming a combined district or having Oakfield investigate creating its own district; no formal vote was taken at the workshop. Supervisor Reding said consolidated representation will be discussed at the regular board meeting on Tuesday, giving the board a timeline for further deliberation.
