Crest council names Buskey as second signer on volunteer fire account

The Crest City Council voted to add Miss Buskey as an authorized second signer on the volunteer fire department checking account, removing a prior signer identified as David. The mayor said adding a separate council member as a signer would provide additional transparency for fire-department expenditures.

The council discussed whether to name one or two backups; Buskey agreed to serve as a signer and the council approved the interim change to take effect until a permanent chief is designated. Legal counsel noted that the adoption language in the resolution would add current council members who are signers of the general fund checking account as authorized signers for the volunteer department check.
