Cold Spring approves Apple TV Studios location agreement, $18,500 fee for officer coverage

The Village Board authorized a location services agreement with Apple TV Studios LLC for a film shoot that will require partial closures on Route 9D and rerouting traffic through the village. The production will provide officer coverage and a production assistant to coordinate with village officers; the board approved the agreement by voice vote after staff confirmed certificates of insurance.

Mayor Foley explained the negotiated location services fee of $18,500 covers officer pay and supervisory costs for the 12-hour period while traffic is rerouted through the village. Staff said emergency vehicles will have access throughout the closure and that the sheriff's department and state troopers will manage intersections outside the village. The agreement includes indemnification language for the village and requires the production to supply a certificate of insurance in limits recommended by the village carrier.

Board members said the village has developed a new template for location agreements and that the Apple TV terms were checked against that template and current permit language. The village will use the template going forward for similar productions.
