Commission approves $2,500 rebate for Oklahoma Wesleyan wrestling tournament

The Planning Commission approved a hotel rebate request of up to $2,500 for an Oklahoma Wesleyan University wrestling tournament planned for December. Staff introduced Tom Carr as the event contact and noted that last year’s event had just under 225 entries and large on-site attendance; Tom described organizers’ expectation of increased room nights and cross‑country team participation.

A committee member moved to approve the rebate “when they turn in the receipts for $2,500 not to exceed,” the motion was seconded and the roll call returned unanimous yes votes from those present. The action was recorded as an approval contingent on submission of receipts.
